Community Outreach
I would like to tell you a bit about Aspire Chiropractic and what makes them unique. Every month Aspire hosts workshops on how to live a more healthy life. They focus on what's called the 5 Essentials; maximized mind, maximized nerve supply, maximized quality nutrition, maximized oxygen & lean muscle, and minimized toxins. Dr. Kress also volunteers her time by offering free seminars to local businesses and organizations throughout the community as a part of her Maximized Living community outreach program. Some organizations are required to have people come in and talk on health & wellness, job safety, or stress management and pay quite a bit for the same kind of seminars that she offers free of charge.
This coming Monday, June 27th, Aspire is hosting a Community Appreciation event where guests are being offered $25 exam and x-rays that will go to support the Highland Friendship Club, a local organization that serves individuals with disabilities from teens through adulthood by providing a range of opportunities to develop lifelong skills, friendships and connections within their community. Dr. Kress has a brother with special needs and she is a part of the Autism Whisperers program so organizations like the Highland Friendship Club are very important to her both personally and professionally. Help Aspire make a difference in the lives of the people that matter most to you and the lives of those with special needs in our community!

Aspire - Greg J. Testimonial
I plan to post a patient testimonial each week in addition to sharing with you my journey to health and wellness. Here's a testimonial from Greg J.
Greg came into the office for chronic lower back pain and balance issues. He had these problems for years prior and also had some neck issues from a car accident and football injuries; when his issues were at their worst he was immobilized and on his back. He had tried stretching, exercise, and strength training prior to his treatment at Aspire Chiropractic. Greg found out about Aspire when Dr. Kress was featured on a TLC documentary called "My Strange Addiction".
When asked what results he has had, Greg said "FANTASTIC! I've had more energy, a better attitude; I'm stronger, and intellectually more fluent.” When asked his impression of chiropractic, Dr. Kress, and our team, he replied "This place has very positive energy. Beyond the doctor's ability which is so great, she extends a genuine love from her heart for her clients. She is a true blessing!”
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your testimonial with everyone Greg!

Wow, what a week!
I just got adjusted for the first time last week. The x-ray of my neck showed that I have a -20 curve, which means my neck is curved the opposite way that it should be. It's going to take some time to get things back to normal but I'm confident that Dr. Brenda Kress of Aspire will get me back into shape!
We had a great talk at the office yesterday on how to "Live to 100". Proper nutrition is HUGE along with getting rid of toxins, exercise, and peace of mind.
A couple of fun facts from our talk:
- Did you know that you shouldn't eat before you exercise in the morning? If you do your body's energy will be focused on burning what you just ate.
- Volunteering in your community doesn't just feel and do good but it could help you live longer. Check out this video to see an inspirational CBS story about a man named Andy Mackie who quit taking his medications and started using that money to teach kids: "Harmonica Man" video.
Think on this... Your body is its own best doctor, if you eat well, exercise, give back, and take care of subluxation; your body has the capability of healing itself and to prevent disease. You are the one that can insure that you live a longer, healthier, happier life. I'm just starting to learn about the 5 Essentials (maximized mind, maximized nerve supply, maximized quality nutrition, maximized oxygen & lean muscle, and minimized toxins) and I'm excited to share this knowledge with you and inspire you to take care of yourself.

My Journey to Live a Longer, Healthier, Happier Life
When you are young you don't really think about getting older and the effect of what you put in and on your body can have on you in the future. Recently I started to realize that if I don't start making some changes in my lifestyle now, in thirty years (if not sooner) I'll be suffering the consequences and won't be able to enjoy myself and live my life to it's fullest potential. I had this awakening after several loved ones, both friends and family, have fallen ill to cancer, victim to stroke, suffer from high blood pressure, and misc unexplainable illnesses.
I started searching for inspiration online and one day Dr. Brenda Kress followed me on Twitter. I went to her website to see what Aspire Chiropractic was all about and was intrigued... A Chiropractor who's also a certified Health Coach focusing on weight loss, detoxification, and nutrition, what's this all about? I don't know about you but I'm the kind of person who feels that everything happens for a reason. I've started to learn a lot about living a healthier lifestyle from Dr. Kress and I'm excited to share my journey to health and wellness with you.
If you're going to Grand Old Day this weekend, stop by the Maximized Living booth on Lexington and Grand and get your spine and nervous system checked for free. Also, Dr. Kress will be offering a great promotion to readers of this blog that I'll be posing here tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!
